Growing Guide When to Plant Tarragon Seeds Sow Tarragon seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost of the season or sow directly outdoors when soil temperatures reach 60 to 70°F.Where to Plant Tarragon Seeds Plant Tarragon in loamy to sandy soils that aren't overly rich in nutrients. Soils that drain readily are a must. Full sun (6-8 hours of sun per day) is needed for the healthiest plants, but it will tolerate partial sun (4-6 hours of sun per day) and suffer a lessened flavor as a result. Do not plant in areas where the garden is frequently watered. How to Plant Tarragon Seeds Tarrgaon seeds require light to germinate, so be careful not to cover them when planting. When planting outdoors, scatter Tarragon seeds lightly over the soil and do not bury them deeper than 1/8th of an inch; Tarragon requires sunlight to germinate seeds. As seedlings begin to grow in size, thin them out until each plant is 18-24 inches apart. When transplanting from indoors, be sure to harden seedlings for 7-10 days before placing in the garden. How to Harvest Tarragon Pinch off flower heads before blooming to preserve Tarragon flavor before harvesting. Leaves can be harvested in the summertime or sprigs can be cut from the newest growth (indicated by a lighter shade of green on the stalk compared to the lower end). Store both the leaves and stalks in water or freeze to keep them preserved. Harvest less often as winter approaches to give the plant more energy to survive the winter. Sarracenia Oreophila Sand Mountain Cl A x Black Veins Carnivorous Plant Cross!
DESCRIPTIONHello, and welcome to Murkwood Carnivorous Plants, a small, independently-owned nursery, registered in Washington State! This listing is for a pack of 25 genuine seeds from the following Sarracenia hybrid cross: S. Oreophila ornata ‘Sand Mountain’ Clone A (Mike Wang) x S. Flava var. Ornata ‘Improved Black Veins’ (Mike Wang) (SEEDS ONLY, PLANTS NOT INCLUDED!)About the parent plants: S. Oreophila ‘Sand Mountain’ Clone A (from Mike Wang) (pod parent): A very nice, shapely and sturdy, heavy-veined Oreophila clone from Mike Wang. I suspect, along with a couple other growers, that this clone is actually a miniature or dwarf clone of Oreo, as it tends to clump heavily on itself with small growth points and puts up pitchers where the tallest barely reaches a foot, where my other Oreophila easily exceed this height. S. var. Ornata ‘Improved Black Veins’ (from Mike Wang) (pollen parent): A shapely Flava var. Ornata clone, it is heavily veined, and its vein color intensifies to black in full sun! This flava is a a semi-dwarf flava, as it tends not to reach heights of other flava clones. The seeds: The seeds were made by crossing the above described clones, in order to produce some beautiful, heavily veined and dark veined hybrid offspring. If you haven’t grown crosses with Oreophilas yet, it is documented that Oreos introduce amazing vibrant colors in hybridized offspring. Now’s your chance! Offspring should also be reasonably cold hardy due to the Oreophila influence. These should be exciting and beautiful!Pollination methods: My pollination regimen includes bagging the flowers with fine mesh as soon as they open, and keeping them bagged well after the petals drop. This is viable, ripe seed from my 2023 harvest from my nursery. The packs of seeds are stored dry in a refrigerated environment for freshnessOnce they’re gone, they’re gone!Photos 1 through 3 shows the parent plants in full growth in my nursery. The final photo is of the genuine seed. Cold Stratification is Required, brief instructions are included on each seed packPictures are equally part of the item description for your review. Check out my other items, and check back often, I will be continuously adding awesome seed crosses and live plants!PAYMENT POLICYPayment due within 3 days of purchase.SHIPPING POLICYNext day shipping and handlingI provide a combined shipping discount for multiple items!
