OSMT Meeting in person at Cheekwood Botanic Gardens (Zoom/Online will be available)

7PM CST: “OSMT’s ‘OSMT’ (Orchid Swap Meet Time)” – ALL MEMBERS

OSMT’s “OSMT” (Orchid Swap Meet Time) – During the upcoming August meeting on this Tuesday (August 15 @ 7PM at Cheekwood) we are planning to try something new…. an “Orchid Swap Meet” event. Therefore, we are asking that everyone please bring a plant from your collection, that is to the best of your knowledge bug and virus free, which you’d be willing to part with to exchange with fellow members of the society.

All participants that bring a plant will be allowed to trade/barter plants in the hopes everyone leaves with something new and exciting to add to your collections. You are not limited to a single plant, so if you’d like to bring more for exchange feel free to bring more as well.

To begin the meeting, we will have all members talk about the plant(s) that they have brought, and why, and then talk about what they’d like to possibly try out or trade for, so everyone can get an idea of what is available and what is being sought after. Once we’ve heard from everyone participating, we will then open the floor up to everyone and let all members negotiate with one another on a plant for a plant basis to make sure everyone leaves with something they’d like to try out in their collections.

Given this fact, this month we will have a larger emphasis on meeting at Cheekwood in person to participate in the swap meet, but we will still make the meeting available online to those who can’t be there in person though.
