Lavendula x intermedia varieties are commonly called French lavender. They tend to grow large, bloom later, and produce more spikes than other lavenders. It is a beautiful addition to just about any garden. They are very fragrant. They are the most widely distilled lavender because their oil yield is much higher than angustifolia varieties. They are an excellent choice for garden hedging. They can grow to 48 inches high or higher and produce long spikes up to 30 inches. To ensure thriving lavender plants, it is absolutely essential to provide them with full sun exposure and soil that drains well. Phenomenal French LavenderLavandula intermedia ‘Phenomenal’ is a medium-sized grower with gray-green foliage and blooms with purple flowers on tall stems, exceptionally tolerant of both high heat and harsh winter. It is an easy-to-grow lavender.
