Rich, well-draining, moist soil – with lots of compost, are the best conditions for this plant.HOW TO PLANT CELOSIA SEEDS: Sow seeds directly onto the surface of your seed starting formula, but do not cover, they need light to germinate. Keep temperatures at a consistent 70-75° F and sprouts will emerge in 7-10 days. When seedlings emerge, ensure they get plenty of sunlight – thinning to 1 seedling per cell when they develop two leaves. Do not transplant to the garden until well after the final frost: above 65° F during the day and 50° F at night, otherwise, you’ll experience stunted growth. Space about 9 – 12 inches apart.HOW TO CARE FOR CELOSIA: Keep Celosia well watered, especially during dry period without natural rainfall. Pinching back the first bloom will encourage branching and bushier growth. Remove the plants after they die back in the fall.WE SHIP FAST & FREE! 100 Seeds Orange Cockscomb Seeds G78.5 , Heirloom Non-Gmo Annual Unusual Blooms

July 8, 2026

100 SEEDS Orange Cockscomb Seeds Cockscomb (Celosia Cristata Nana Jessica Orange) – For a rather exotic looking annual, start some Cockscomb seeds in the early spring, and enjoy its long bloom season and vibrant colors. Celosia Cristata Nana is a short Cockscomb variety, and it is used as a bedding plant or in containers. Celosia Cristata is considered to be a crested variety of Celosia. The flower is definitely unique and has interesting wavy crests of fused flower stalks. Many people dry these unique blooms, and they are used in dried floral crafts and are considered to be everlastings. This Crested Celosia flower seed will produce blooms that are bright orange and very showy wherever they are grown. Celosia plants are known for their excellent performance in high heat and high humidity. Cockscomb does not perform well in areas with cool, wet summers. Cockscomb seeds can be started indoors to get a jump start on the growing season. Celosia roots prefer not to be disturbed, so it’s recommended to start the flower seeds in peat pots that can be transplanted right into the ground. Press the flower seeds into the soil and lightly cover. Keep the flower seeds moist. For areas with a long growing season, Celosia seeds can be started directly outdoors in a prepared seedbed. The soil must be 60F or warmer for germination to occur. Use a application of a balanced fertilizer every few weeks during the blooming season. Season: Annual USDA Zones: 3 – 10 Height: 6 inches Bloom Season: Summer through fall Bloom Color: Orange Environment: Full sun Soil Type: Well drained, pH 5.5 – 6.0 Planting Directions Temperature: 70F Average Germ Time: 14 – 21 days Light Required: Yes Depth: Cover seed lightly with topsoil after sowing Sowing Rate: 2 -3 seeds per plant Moisture: Keep seeds in soil slightly moist but not wet Plant Spacing: 6 – 10 inches Please see my other fantastic seed listings below: Rare Flower Seeds Rare Vegetable/Fruit Seeds Rare Tree Seeds Rare Bonsai Seeds Garden Supplies US Seller.
