They are well suited to hot, arid climates like California.* Portulaca is referred to by many names including rose moss, moss roses, purslane, sun plant etc…* Moss Rose or Portulaca is one of the most beautiful and adaptable species of flowers in the world often seen growing in drier areas.* Moss Roses have sedum like foliage that has a fleshy, thick succulent leaves that help it cope with very dry conditions.* Portulaca are not fussy in their growing conditions and will do equally well as bedding plants or container plants.
