Delphinium Royal BluePerennial These seeds are from my garden. Fresh.Truly Spectacular! This Delphinium is a beautiful and tall plant. Flowers start purple color with a hint of royal blue. Little by little the colors change to a Royal Blue with a hint of purple. They make great cut flowers. I started the plant in the picture from seed 4 years ago. It attracts lots of bees, bumble bees and hummingbirds. PerennialPlant seeds indoors; 8 weeks before last frost.Plant seeds outdoors: after danger of frost.Zone 3 -9Full sun or partial shadeWater regularSoil: well drainedHeight: 4 – 6′ tallBlooms: from spring to fallPlanting advice: If not sown immediately keep the seed packet in a standard fridge to maximize the life of this seed type.To maximize germination, seeds should cold-treated (stratified) first.Place the still-sealed packet in the salad drawer of the fridge for a week or two.Surface sow on fine free draining compost and very lightly cover with a fine sprinkling of compost or fine vermiculite.Best placed in propagator 50-55F or inside a clear polythene bag in order to maintain humidity.Exclude light until first seedlings show. When large enough to handle transplant into pots and grow Delphinium plants on gradually acclimatizing to outdoors conditions after all risk of frost has passed.Plant to final growing position when large enough, 18in apart in moist well drained soil in full sun sheltered from strong winds.if necessary, provide support to the plant.Protect from slugs and snails.
