OSMT Meeting at Cheekwood

7 pm Presentation Alan Bachrach on Identifying Cattleya Species

Location: Cheekwood Botanical Gardens – directions, 1200 Forrest Park Drive, Nashville Tennessee 37205

Are you ready for a new year of orchids? Happy New Year! Experience a new year of bountiful blooms and refreshed roots with the Orchid Society!

Our first meeting for the year will be led by our very own Alan Bachrach. He will speak about identifying Cattleya species. The Cattleya stands at the pinnacle of floral beauty. It’s form and complexity of colors, patterns, sizes and their alluring scents have won over many hearts.

With species variations from Aclandiae to Warscewiczii, Cattleyas are interesting orchids for beginners and advanced hobbyists alike. Understanding an orchid’s species description, that may be part of a hybrid you own, can help you grown and bloom successfully.
