OSMT Meeting online

7 pm CST: Cheryl Erins speaking on “Growing Differently, a New Home for the Little Guys”
Location: Zoom Online Meeting

Happy New Year everyone! We’re starting off 2021 with a virtual talk from Cheryl Erins.

Top: Bulbophyllum moniliforme
Bottom: Acostaca costariceus

Cheryl has been growing orchids for over 40 years, has a greenhouse with around 400 plants, and two mini cases with around 60 plants. She is now specializing in the Catasidinae group.  Her basement is a home to Bulbophyllums and large Pleurothallids especially in the winter.  All are grown under LED lighting.

Cheryl is an accredited AOS judge out of the Chicago Center, serves as the AOS Secretary and VP of the Mid America Orchid Congress.  She talks on various subjects, among them being LIGHT, New Home for the Little Guys, Tours of SE Asia, Brazil and Ecuador as well as other topics.  The topic New Home for the Little Guys stemmed from moving into a much smaller house, with a need to provide much needed humidity to these favorites with a smaller footprint.
