This bitter gourd is a classic bitter that is much less bitter than the typical Indian types. Bitter melon seeds should be planted ¾ inch deep and spaced 20 inches apart. A trellis, bamboo poles, or wooden stakes should be inserted in the soil close to where the seeds are planted, allowing the vines to climb up. *** Temperatures: 70 Degree F to germinate*** Maturity: 40-50 days*** Harvest: between 7 and 12 inches long. Remove the bitter gourds from the plant before they are ripe and when they are still firm; they ripen quickly on or off the plant.
