But it is a perennial and will come back yearly. 100% Pure Seed – Non-GMO – Fresh for Season – can be planted in Spring, Summer or Fall PRODUCT INFORMATION Maximilian Sunflower is a tall (3-8 feet) perennial sunflower with yellow flowers up to 3 inches across. This plant’s tubers were an important food source for western tribes of Native Americans. Found from southern Canada south to North Carolina, Kentucky and Texas, this plant tolerates full to partial sun, dry to moderate moisture, and a wide range of soils. It blooms from late August to October and flowers attract honey bees and wild bees. Serves as an important wildlife plant – deer forage on leaves and birds eat the seeds. A way to insure germination is to cold stratify perennial seeds. Stratification. This is the most common way to break your seeds out of dormancy. Essentially, you are simulating a short winter for the seed by placing it in the refrigerator. Most seeds carry inhibitors that prevent them from germinating until warmer temperatures arrive in the spring. When the plant goes back to room temperature after being placed in the refrigerator, it is more likely to undergo germination. The length of the stratification process depends on your specific seed. Larger seeds often need to be placed in between wet paper towels before going into the refrigerator. For your smaller seeds, you’ll want to place them in a tray of soil. Add Light. Some seeds need sunlight to begin to germinate. Place your seeds on top of your soil for a few days and have a little bit of patience while expecting them to begin to germinate.Water. Soak the seeds in water overnight to soften the shell. We germinated them two ways. First we soaked in water overnight. Then one batch we put on top of dirt in pots spritzing them with water and they germinated in 10 days. Second batch in between two wet paper towels and they germinated in 7 days (see photo). Pink Dwarf Banana Tree Fruit Plant Seeds (Musa velutina) Rare Fast Hardy-Zone 7b

July 8, 2026

Pink Dwarf Banana Tree Fruit Plant Seeds (Musa velutina) “Freshly Harvested in Saipan”The Pink Banana is a Tropical Perennial in the Musa or Banana Family that is Generally Grown as an Ornamental and has Decorative Fruits in Subtropical Climates. It Typically Grows to 4 to 6 Feet Tall and 3 to 4 Feet Wide. It is Hardy to Zones 7b to 11. The Leaves are Large, Paddle-Shaped, Dark Green, and Measure 3 Feet Long. In Late Summer the Creamy Flowers with Pink Bracts Emerge and are Quickly Followed by Clusters of Small Pink Velvety Fruits. The Fruit is Sweet and Edible, but it is Full of Hard Black Seeds. They Ripen and then Split Open. They prefer a sunny position, moist and well-drained soil, and like to be fed and watered generously during the spring and summer. If you experience a cold snap during winter, container grown plants can easily be brought indoors when the weather changes. Pink velvet banana trees prefer a sheltered position out of harsh winds. Although they like sun or partial shade, intense direct sunlight can damage the foliage. This plant thrives in a fertile, humusy, moist, well-drained soil and does best with a slightly acidic to neutral ph level. During the growing season, in the spring and summer, pink velvet bananas will appreciate being fed regularly with fertilizer. To see the best results from your pink velvet banana tree, you should keep the soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged, through the spring and summer. This isn’t a drought tolerant plant, and if the soil or potting mix becomes dried out, it can inhibit healthy growth. Watering should be cut back significantly through the winter season. Despite this, they’re a comparatively resilient banana family species. Although the foliage can die off or turn brown at the edges if temperatures hit as low as 30 degrees Fahrenheit, it will still grow back healthy once the spring arrives. If you plan to leave the plant outdoors in a zone where temperatures drop to freezing, protect the base of your tree with a layer of heavy mulch to insulate the roots. Zones 7b-11Musa Germination:Sow indoors at any time of year. Sow seeds as soon as you are able. If you are not going to sow them, store them in their packaging in a cool, dark, dry place. (Do not refrigerate)1) Pour distilled boiling water over seeds and allow them to soak for 3 – 4 days in the warm water. Let the seeds cool with the water. Change the water & Repeat this process each day. This process is Very important, as gets rid of germination inhibitors by softening the rock hard shells of the Musa seeds.2) Fill either large cells or trays with perlite, vermiculite & sterilized compost. Stand the trays in water until the medium is completely moist.3) Sow the seeds an inch deep. Spray the seeds with a little copper based fungicide.4) Use a heated propagator under the trays. Bottom heat is needed for optimal results with any Musa seed, so use a propagator if you have one or in a warm location out of direct sunlight for best results. Do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep at a constant temperature of 68 to 77°F. Keep at 77+ during the day, while letting the temperature drop to 68-70 at night as this will daily change in temperature will increase germination rates and speed.5) Check the seeds daily for germination. If mold or fungus starts to appear, remove the seeds and wash them in warm water. Spray them with fungicide and re-sow in a fresh medium in a sterilized pot. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged. As with any Tropical or Exotic seed, patience is needed as germination is always erratic. Some may sprout within 2 to 3 Weeks, while most others can take from a few all the way up to Twelve Months. Do not give up too soon! They are Worth the Wait!

All Orders include Free shipping, But without tracking numbers… Gallardia Aristata Gaillardia Aristata, is also known as the blanket flower. It’s an easy-to-grow, perennial that will reseed itself with richly colored daisy-like flowers. This plant forms a slowly spreading mound, and the common name (Blanket flower) may be a reference to how they can slowly spread and blanket an area. These plants grow to about 24 inches in height with about a 20-inch spread. Blanket flowers are fast-growers and need little care. If grown from seed, they will bloom in their second year and will put out hundreds of large showy blooms of flowers, in bright shades of reds, yellows, and slightly orange colors throughout the warm season months all the way till fall. These perennial favorites are grown easily from seeds, and planted directly into your garden, sometime after the last frost date of winter (or started indoors about 4 to 6 weeks earlier). Blanket Flower Care Gaillardia X Grandiflora is fully hardy to flourish in USDA Zones 3 to 10. Due to extensive hybridizing, you will likely be able to find a variety to fit your zone and climate conditions. The flower can reseed and easily sprawl throughout your garden. Since the original plants are hybrids, expect some variations from the self-seeding process. Gaillardias are such long bloomers that they work equally well in borders and in containers. Blanket flowers do well with other heat-loving plants that thrive in full sun. The bold, daisy-like flowers blend especially well with soft textures, like thread-leaf Coreopsis and cosmos, as well as airy ornamental grasses. For more contrast, plant them with spiky plants like Kniphofia, Crocosmia, or daylilies. ‘Burgundy’ contrasts well with blue flowers, like Salvia and veronica. All the Gaillardia varieties make excellent cut flowers. Light These plants thrive best in full sun. The blanket flower can also handle partial shade, particularly in the hot climates. SoilGaillardia prefers poor soil. Do not amend with rich matter or overly fertilize. It is not particular about soil pH, but it does need well-draining soil. It will grow in somewhat moist conditions, but heavy clay soil will probably kill it. Water immediately after planting, water deeply to encourage good root development. Check soil frequently (every other day or so) to ensure the soil is moist but not soggy one inch below soil line. Once established, Gaillardia is extremely drought tolerant. It can go without watering unless there are extremely hot and dry conditions, then it’s best to water the bed once or twice per week. Avoid over-watering. Temperature and HumidityBlanket flowers thrive in full sun and can withstand hot summer temperatures. They do not require a humid environment and do better in hot, dry climates over cool, moist ones. In cooler climates, protect your overwintering blanket flowers with a thick layer of mulch. FertilizerPoor soils seem to encourage more flowering than rich soils, so go easy on (or avoid) the fertilizer. PruningBlanket flower does not require deadheading to keep blooming, but the plants will look better and be fuller if you do cut the stems back when the flowers start to fade. You will also get more continuous flowering with deadheading, so don’t be shy about it. Deadheading isn’t mandatory, but it may stimulate additional blooms. If the plant languishes in the heat of summer, cutting it back dramatically may reinvigorate it for good fall blooming. Propagating Blanket FlowersThere are seeds for many Gaillardia x Grandiflora varieties. You can sow them in the spring or Get a head start by sowing in late summer and protecting the young plants over the winter. Since the plants can be short-lived and hybrids don’t grow true from self-seeding, it is best to divide the plants every two to three years in the spring or fall to try to keep them going. Follow these steps to divide blanket flowers: Use a spade to dig a circle about 6 inches to 8 inches around the mound of blanket flowers that need dividing. Dig down about a foot to release the root ball. Lift the root ball from the soil using the spade. Shake the root ball slightly to remove some of the dirt to expose the roots. Gently tease roots apart with your fingers or use a sterile, sharp knife to divide into two or three clumps. Each clump should include a few shoots of foliage. Replant divisions in a prepared area that will allow the roots to spread. Once roots are covered with soil, water thoroughly to moisten the roots. Keep the soil moist, but not soggy, until you see the plant is no longer stressed, and then cut back on watering as you would with established blanket flowers. FAQ Are blanket flowers easy to grow? Blanket flowers are fairly foolproof if planted in any well-drained soil in a full-sun location. Do blanket flowers attract butterflies? Blanket flowers attract butterflies as well as small birds, like weed-eating finches, which are always a welcome addition to any garden.
