Our main offerings: Hundreds of heirloom, rare, beautiful flowers and Herbs and Vegetables seeds. Especially we provide hard to find Herb and flowers seeds! Chicory (Cichorium Intybus) / Blue Dandelion – Chicory seeds produce a perennial wild flower that is not only lovely but beneficial as well. Chicory plants grow easily from flower seed in sunny locations and in well-drained or moderately drained soils. Cichorium Intybus plants have clusters of 1 – 3 daisy-like flowers, in brilliant pastel blue, and they prefer medium to higher fertility levels and a pH of 5.5 or greater. Planting instructions: Sowing: Direct sow blue chicory seeds in early spring, planting the seed 1/4″ deep in loose soil; keep the soil lightly moist until germination, which should occur in 10-14 days. Growing: This blue chicory plant grows best in rich soil, but also adapts well to poor soil. As the seedlings develop, make sure to remove all weeds and keep the soil consistently moist. Mature plants tolerate drought well. We cannot sell this seed to customers in CO or SD. Harvesting: Cut young, tender leaves for fresh greens; do not freeze or dry them, since this deprives them of all flavor. They can be stored in the refrigerator for several days. The root can be harvested any time after four months of growth, but before the ground freezes. Seed Saving: Allow the flowers to dry on the plant and develop into seed heads; the mature seed in the heads will be hard and brown. Remove the heads and spread them out for several days to dry completely. Crush the seed heads to remove the seed, and separate the seed from the chaff. Store blue chicory seeds in a cool, dry place. FISHTAIL PALM TREE SEEDS (Wallichia disticha) Distichous RARE Exotic Tropical
FISHTAIL PALM TREE SEEDS (Wallichia disticha)Because of it’s Unusual Leaf Arrangement, where the Leaves Grow in Two Opposite Columns, on Opposite Sides of the Trunk, this is One of the Most Intriguing & Sought After Palms in the World. The Fronds are Narrow with Fishtail Shaped Ends, Giving the Leaf a Feathery Appearance. Fishtail Palms are Medium in Size, Growing to around 15-20, and Grow Extremely Fast once they’re Established. It Can Thrive in Zones 9b-11.It is an easy to grow species that will perform best in a reliably moist sandy soil in full sun although it will tolerate half-shade in hotter climates. That being said it has proven to tolerate clay and loam soils which can also be slightly alkaline or acidic. Water during extended periods of drought, and improve drainage where necessary to prevent the roots becoming waterlogged over the winter as this cause the premature death of the plant.Zones 9b-11Fishtail Palm Germination:1) Scarify the seeds with a nail file to slightly break through the surface of the shell, but never too deep. Just enough to make it easier for moisture to soak into them. 2) Use a thermos to soak them in warm water for 24 hours.3) Plant seeds appx. 1/4″ deep in well mixed and draining seed starting mix. 4) Use a heated propagator to keep the soil temperature between 80-85 degrees F., and keep them under filtered light.5) As with most tropical seeds, germination is erratic so don’t toss any that don’t sprout as early as some. Expect germination to start for a few after 1 month, but most can take all the way up to 3 months.
