Windmill Palm Tree, 3 yearling, Cold Hardy 12″ – 18″ High. Palm trees measuring 12″ – 18″ high. Grown in the Willamette Valley, Oregon. These trees can withstand cold temperatures down to 10 degrees. Great plants for hotter and humid environments in the summer and cool winters. They do need watering once a week or rainfall. These plants will be shipped without their containers. The roots will be damped and in a bag and wrapped. Plants will be shipped in a standard box with supports. Discounts available for more than 20 trees. Taxonomic Information:Genus: Musa Species: Unknown Description: Those are my pictures. Those are my trees. This is a cold hardy banana tree. (Botanically, they are plants, not trees.) Here in North America, the plants grow spring through fall. They pause or die back in the winter, depending on the climate. In zones colder than zone 7, it would be wise to put mulch over the plants in the winter. The more sun and water they receive, the larger they will grow. They do fine in full sun to dappled shade. The bananas make beautiful plants. See those pictures! Those are my pictures! The leaves are really spectacular! The plants are good for many purposes in the kitchen as well. I use the leaves for garnish & for “natural” dishes. The inner “core” of the stem (pseudostem, technically) is a tasty starch-like food (it tastes like corn to me). The foliage also makes great animal feed (chickens, ducks, rabbits, goats, and bovine). Textiles, yarn, and paper can be made from the plant. Suitable for myriad permaculture uses. This is a great plant to add a real tropical feel to your garden! What you will receive: 1 banana corm/bulb/tuber (root mass). It will be a sprouted, mature bulb and shoot (truncated).
