16 oz Red Radish 16 oz Red Radish Microgreen SeedsAll seed lots are tested for germination. Non-GMO seeds grown and packaged in the U.S( Each bag is resealable and individually labeled )Country Creek Brand – Radish microgreens are substantial and crunchy. They are easy and fast growers. Makes a great addition to any salad, sandwich or garnish. The pleasantly peppery radish microgreens are easy to grow (also in winter) and a good choice for those who are new to growing edible microgreens at home. Harvested at about two inches tall, these peppery seedlings are great in salads and cold soups. Their small size also makes them a great raw garnish to dishes that can benefit from a peppery element. Radish sprouts are an excellent source of folate. Folate is believed to promote cardiovascular health by breaking down homocysteine, an amino acid that is thought to promote atherosclerosis (fatty deposits in blood vessels). In addition to providing tons of folate, radish sprouts contain plenty of vitamin B6, another nutrient that has been shown to break down homocysteine in the body. 4 Ounce Garbanzo Bean Seeds
4 Ounce Garbanzo Bean Seeds 4 oz Garbanzo BeanMicrogreen SeedsNon-Gmo, Organic seeds. Grown and packaged in the U.SAll seed lots are tested for germination. ( Each bag is resealable and individually labeled )Country Creek Brand – Your basic Chick-Pea, only smaller. This is our favorite Beige – it tastes great and is best looking as a sprout. Dried garbanzo bean seed sprouts are rich in carbohydrates, fiber, calcium and protein as well as magnesium, potassium and Vitamins A and D. To start your sprouts, you will want to soak your seeds in a bowl of cool water for 4-6 hours, or overnight, making certain that seeds are submersed and not floating on top of the water. This will soften the seed coat and promote germination. After soaking, thoroughly drain off all water. It is wise to rinse seeds immediately after soaking to clean them and wash away an extraneous matter, and again drain off all excess water. Wait several hours, then later in that day: Rinse seeds with cool, clean water. Carefully drain off all water so seeds at bottom of sprouter are not covered with water. Repeat this process of rinsing with cool water and draining 3-4 times per day as your seeds mature, and even as you begin to harvest and consume them. As your sprouts grow, it is important that they receive good air circulation. Many types of sprouters, such as simple canning jar types, provide good circulation with the tilting motion necessary for complete drainage. Keep your container on your kitchen table or counter, or similar location that has dependable lighting and airflow. Once sprouts have reached a desirable state for consumption, typically 2-4 days for chickpeas, they can be transferred out of sprouter and placed under refrigeration to prolong their lifespan. Sprouts should not be allowed to dry out. Listing and template services provided by inkFrog

To reap the health benefits of microgreens, eat them immediately after harvest. Microgreens, like most other superfoods that are consumed fresh, begin to lose their nutritional value rapidly after harvest. Consider growing your own microgreens at home as this will allow you to decide exactly when you harvest your crop. Another way to boost the nutritional value of recipes made with microgreens is to use extra-virgin olive oil or another healthy oil. The presence of oil helps improve the bioavailability of the fat-soluble nutrients in microgreens. Some people use glass jars to grow their sprouts. If you already have a glass jar and don’t plan on growing a bunch of sprouts at once, you can use this technique and just get a plastic lid that is designed to fit on wide-mouthed glass jars – specifically for growing sprouts. A mason Jar also works. Between “sprouting sessions” you will need to clean your sprouting jar. Be careful not to leave any soap or residue in the jar, as this can inhibit the growth of your next batch of sprouts. First, soak your seeds in a Vinegar and water solution, for 15 minutes to get rid of bacteria. Rinse well and soak the seeds in plain water overnight. The next morning, drain the seeds and place them in a mason jar. There are mesh lids made just for sprouting, or you can just replace the center part of the mason jar lid with cheesecloth or loosely woven muslin to allow air to circulate and excess water to drain. One to Twice daily, rinse and drain the seeds, placing your jar upside down within a bowl or tray to catch drainage. Within about 5 days, you can expect plump and flavorful sprouts. On the last day, place them in in a bright area, (not direct sun), being very careful not to let them dry out. This allows chlorophyll to form, which will cause them to become that healthful green color. Listing and template services provided by inkFrog
