500 seeds -Garden Starter Pack – Yamhill Soft White Winter Wheat Grain -Heirloom

July 8, 2026

Yamhill Soft White Winter Wheat Grain Triticum aestivumHeirloom Garden Starter Pack Beardless, cold tolerant winter variety A very dependable, versatile, delicious and nutritious cool weather flour grain. Open pollinated heirloom. All Natural NON GMO. Does better on wet soil than other varieties. A cool weather grain traditionally cultivated in late summer – fall to germinate overwinter to revitalize poor soils with nitrogen, while its roots breakup compacted soils. Use as an all purpose flour grain. Let dry for use as a flour for biscuits, gravies and sauces, and cakes. Great milling quality! Our starter packs are intended for the home gardener that wants to try growing something different and give grain growing a try. Can be grown in the garden direct sow in the late fall or as a container grown wheat. Winter wheat produces a higher yield than spring sown wheat varieties. Many use stems in flower arrangements. Gives good yields in poor soils. Plant it about 1/4″ deep, in well drained soil a few weeks before first frost. It will take 120 days to have nicely developed heads, harvest when seeds no longer have a milky appearance when cut open (when grain is good and dry) Seed can be stored for many years in a cool dry place. Makes excellent cover for quail and other wildlife. We thank you for your support of rare and naturally grown seeds! To reap the health benefits of microgreens, eat them immediately after harvest. Microgreens, like most other superfoods that are consumed fresh, begin to lose their nutritional value rapidly after harvest. Consider growing your own microgreens at home as this will allow you to decide exactly when you harvest your crop. Microgreens are young vegetable greens that are approximately 1–3 inches (2.5–7.5 cm) tall. They have an aromatic flavor and concentrated nutrient content and come in a variety of colors and textures. Microgreens are considered baby plants, falling somewhere between a sprout and baby green. Speckled Pea Sprouts are known for its distinctive color and texture. They are a great sprout that will allow you to create satisfying, signature meals for any dish. The taste of the speckled pea sprout will have a sweet, crisp flavor so they will fit great into soups, salads, and sandwiches. When eaten, they provide Vitamins B, C, and K, folic acid, and fiber. Speckled Pea Sprouts are easy to prepare and store. They provide a long shelf and can be stored in a cool climate controlled environment.
