Orange Calendula Flower Seeds, “COOL BEANS N SPROUTS” Brand. Home Gardening.
Commonly called the pot marigold (Calendula officinalis), the calendula flower has long been a staple in British cottage gardens. All parts of calendula plants are useful in many ways. The plant is said to stimulate the immune system and is currently used as an ingredient in many cosmetics. Flowers and leaves of the calendula may be dried and stored for later use. In the vegetable garden, calendula draws aphids away from valuable plants. The calendula flower or flowering herb is an annual which will readily reseed. Too much calendula care can result in stunted or slow growth. Poor to average, well draining soil and only occasional watering after plants are established is the secret to growing prolific calendula plants. calendula, EDIBLE FLOWER, reseeds, 105 seeds! GroCo# – BUY ANY 10 – SHIPS FREE
TO SEE ALL OUR ITEMS SEARCH “GROCO SEEDS” ON EBAY. CALENDULA – Pacific Beauty Mix Annual Yellow, Orange 2 feet tall Full Sun Seeds of the calendula are quite large and easy to germinate. After you plant them, they will always be there. They are not a perennial, but since they reseed so readily, they just keep coming back. Another nice feature of this flower is it’s capability to adapt to a pot. Often called a pot marigold, it can be started indoors in a pot, and even grown in a pot outdoors. Grow in full sun. Comes with planting instructions. The 2″ blooms are not only very colorful yellow or orange, but they are edible, so can be used in salads, on cakes, in drinks, or as a garnish for any dish. To me the plant has a faint rhubarb scent. This plant is one of the easiest to grow of all flowers and requires little maintenance. It can withstand some drought, and will still do well.
Red Chokeberry, Aronia arbutifolia Brilliantissima, Shrub Seeds (Fall Color)
Red Chokeberry Shrub, Aronia arbutifolia Brilliantissima, Seeds Hardy, Adaptable, Easy to Grow, Showy Flowers, Excellent Fall Color, Winter Interest, Showy Edible Fruits, Attracts Birds, Wildlife Food/Shelter, Hedge/Windbreak, Cold, Heat, Drought, Salt and Wind Tolerant This Red Chokeberry cultivar is a deciduous shrub which typically grows slowly to 6 to 10 feet tall and is perhaps most noted for its attractive glossy red berries and red fall foliage color. Leaves are obovate to elliptic, glossy, dark green to 3 inches long with grayish-green beneath. Foliage turns bright red in autumn and compares favorably with Burning Bush (Euonymus alatus) for excellence of fall color. Flowers are white to pinkish, clusters (corymbs) of 5-petaled and 1/3 inch, appearing in spring. Flowers are followed by abundant 3/8 inch glossy red fruits, which appear in dense clusters along the branches. Fruits ripen in late summer and persist throughout fall and well into winter. The common name is in reference to the tart and bitter berries which are edible but so astringent as to cause choking in those who try. Juice from the berries is astringent and not sweet, but high in vitamin C and antioxidants. The berries can be used to make wine, jam, syrup, juice, soft spreads and tea. The Red Chokeberry has a sweeter flavor than the black species. ‘Brilliantissima’ primarily differs from the species by (1) being more compact, (2) producing more lustrous foliage with superior red fall color and (3) producing larger, glossier and more abundant fruit.
