It is, likely, an even richer source of nutrients than our domesticated blueberry. * These blueberry grows wild on heathlands and more acidic soil types and are considered a dwarf shrub. * European blueberries have been consumed for thousands of years as a traditional herbal medicine due to their very high levels of antioxidants. In fact, they’re consumed as a liqueur or tea in European herbal remedies to combat diseases like diabetes or gastrointestinal issues. Also, there are studies pointing to the possibility of these bilberries inhibiting colon cancer tumor growth. Mosquitoes have been shown to avoid lemongrass because of the strong citrus like smell it possesses.* Lemongrass is grown as an annual in cool regions, and as a perennial in warmer areas. It’s season can also be extended if brought indoors during winter to grow in a container or pot.* To use lemongrass as a mosquito repellent, just place the plants around the perimeter of the space you want to exclude mosquitoes. For example, you’d want to place the lemongrass around a patio, deck or any other outdoor space.* This highly ornamental, medicinal perennial grass is native to Thailand, India, Burma and Sri Lanka.
