20 purple petunia bullseye flower seeds for spring summer fall fast growing

July 8, 2026

Planting petunia seeds is a rewarding process that can result in beautiful blooms. Here are detailed planting instructions for petunia seeds: 1. **Gather Supplies**: – Petunia seeds – Seed starting mix or potting soil – Seedling trays or small pots – Watering can – Plastic wrap or a clear plastic dome – Grow lights or a sunny windowsill – Fertilizer (optional) 2. **Preparing the Soil**: – Fill seedling trays or small pots with a moistened seed starting mix or potting soil. Make sure the soil is well-draining. 3. **Planting the Seeds**: – Plant 2-3 petunia seeds per pot or cell in the tray. Press the seeds lightly into the soil, but do not bury them too deep. 4. **Moistening the Soil**: – Water the soil gently after planting to ensure it is evenly moist. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to seed rot. 5. **Covering the Seeds**: – Cover the tray with plastic wrap or a clear plastic dome to create a mini greenhouse effect. This helps retain moisture and warmth, aiding germination. 6. **Providing Light and Warmth**: – Place the tray in a warm location with indirect light or under grow lights. Petunia seeds require light to germinate, so do not cover them with soil. 7. **Maintaining Moisture**: – Check the soil regularly and mist it lightly if it begins to dry out. Avoid letting the soil dry completely. 8. **Germination**: – Petunia seeds typically germinate in 7-21 days. Once the seeds germinate, remove the plastic cover. 9. **Transplanting**: – Once the seedlings have developed a couple of sets of true leaves, transplant them into individual pots to allow for proper growth. 10. **Growing Conditions**: – Petunias thrive in full sun and well-draining soil. Water them regularly, but avoid overwatering to prevent root rot. 11. **Fertilizing**: – You can fertilize the petunias with a balanced fertilizer once a month to promote healthy growth and blooming. 12. **Maintenance**: – Pinch back the stems of the petunias to encourage bushier growth and deadhead spent blooms to promote continuous flowering. By following these detailed instructions, you can successfully grow petunias from seeds and enjoy their vibrant and colorful blooms.

Orange Striped Cushaw Squash Seeds | Sweet Gourd Pumpkin Seed 2024 Fast Shipping

July 8, 2026

Orange Striped Cushaw is a colorful twist on the traditional and versatile Green-Striped Cushaw. This heirloom variety has a rich history in American Southern cuisines, particularly in pies and stews. Cushaw is beloved for its creamy, tender golden flesh with sweet, nutty flavor and has been a staple in traditional recipes for generations. Orange Striped Cushaw grows around 20” long pear shaped fruits with a thick base and curved necks. Use these whimsical squashes in Fall displays or use in place of pumpkin or sweet potato for a unique twist on classic pies. Cut Cushaw into chunks to add to hearty stews and soups, to drizzle with olive oil to roast, or to steam or boil and mash for a creamy side dish. Cushaw may also be harvested for its edible seeds, shoots, and flowers. Squash is one of the plants grown in the traditional Native American vegetable growing technique called the Three Sisters. The other two plants in the Three Sisters are beans and corn. Each plant had its role in this companion planting tradition. Corn served as a structure for the vining beans to grow up. Squash served as a ground cover to prevent weeds from growing. Beans provided natural fertilizer for all. Also Known As: Silver Seed Gourd, Japanese Pie Pumpkin, Cushaw Pumpkin, Kershaw, Tennessee Sweet Potato Squash, Sweet Potato Pumpkin, Sweet Potato Squash, Orange Striped Cushaw, Tennessee Orange Squash. We ship in 1 business day. Shipped with USPS First Class Mail. Plant Name: Winter Squash, Orange Striped Cushaw Latin Name: Curcubita argyrosperma Days to Germinate: 7-14 Days to Harvest: 110 Germination Rate: 92% Test Date: 8/23 Growth Habit: Vining USDA Zones: 3-9 Lifespan: Annual Brand: TomorrowSeeds Sunlight: Full Sun, Partial Shade GMO: No Pollination: Heirloom, Open-Pollinated Fungicide-Treated Seeds:*: No Seeds Packed For**: 2024 *Fungicide-treated seeds protect the seedlings from diseases until they are up and growing. Do not eat treated seeds. **Seeds are freshly packed for the growing season of the year listed. Seeds are still viable beyond pack date. Store in a cool and dry location such as the refrigerator or basement to best preserve germination rates. Planting Instructions: Soil Preparation: Squash grows best in sandy, fertile soils with a pH between 6.0 and 6.5. To prepare soil, remove weeds, large rocks, and litter from the planting area. Leave small weeds and dead grass, they will enrich the soil when turned under. Spade the soil 8-12 inches deep and turn each shovel of soil over completely to cover the plant materials with soil. You may add fertilizer (see “Fertilizing” below) or 2-3 inches of organic material such as compost, leaves, or rotted hay over the planting area at this point. Till to mix this organic material into the top 8-10 inches of soil. For squash, make rows of soil beds 4-6 inches high and at least 3 feet apart. This formation of ridges will help with drainage. Planting: Since squash does not grow well in cool weather, plant in the spring after all danger of frost has passed and the soil begins to warm. For a good fall crop, plant early so squash will mature before the first killing frost. To plant, make 1 inch deep holes spaced 4 feet apart in raised beds down the rows, then plant 5-6 seeds in each hole. Cover thinly with soil and water after planting. After the seeds come up and plants are 3-4 inches tall, thin to 3 squash plants per hill. Planting Depth: 1 inch Within-Row Spacing: 4 feet Between-Row Spacing: 8 feet Care During the Season: Watering: Water the plants enough to keep them from wilting. If the weather is really dry, squash plants should be watered at least once a week. Sandy soils need to be watered more often than heavy clay soils. Weeding: Keep squash plants as weed-free as possible. When plowing or hoeing do not dig deeper than 1 inch to prevent from cutting the feeder rooters which may slow the plant’s growth. Fertilizing: You may optionally add scatter 2-3 pounds of a complete fertilizer for each 100 square feet of garden area. Work into the soil and leave the surface smooth. For small gardens, use 2-3 tablespoons of fertilizer for each hill. Scatter the fertilizer evenly over a 2 foot by 2 foot area. work it into the top 2-3 inches of soil. When blooms first appear, you may optionally apply 2 tablespoons of fertilizer around each hill. Do not let fertilizer touch the plants. Water the plants after fertilizing. Insecticides: Insecticides may be used to protect plants. Bt-based insecticides and sulfur are organic options that can be used for prevention. Sulfur also has fungicidal properties and helps in controlling many diseases. Before using a pesticide, please read the label and follow cautions, warnings and directions. Diseases: Squash can get many diseases, especially when harvesting begins. Check the plants daily and if spots or mold appear, treat the plant with an approved fungicide. Neem oil, sulfur, and other fungicides may be used. Please always follow label directions. Harvesting: Harvest cushaw when they are full sized, the skin is hard, and the bottom of the fruit is lightened in color. A light frost will not damage fruits. Cushaw squash is best when cut, not pulled, from the vine. Winter squash can be stored for several months. Old squash vines can be composted or worked in the soil well before the Spring planting season. Growing to 10 meters, it is a vigorous, deciduous woody vine, notable for its showy trumpet-shaped flowers. This plant has low severity poison characteristics. Trumpet vine is a dense, vigorous, multi-stemmed, deciduous, woody vine in the Bignoniaceae (begonia) family that attaches itself to structures and climbs by aerial rootlets. Trumpet vines bloom on new growth, so deadheading after the flowers will encourage a second showing. Trumpet-shaped yellow, orange, and red flowers bloom from June to September in the summer. A trumpet vine is an excellent pick for a pollinator or hummingbird garden, attracting swarms of winged creatures all summer. You’ll have rafts of flowers for months, too.Trumpet vines prefer well-draining soil, but they’ll thrive in almost any soil. No need to add organic matter at the time of planting. They grow in part shade to full sun, but you’ll get the most blooms in full sun. Planting trumpet vine in a container is an excellent way to control its natural tendency to spread. A container of at least 20 gallons is necessary. Place a trellis or other structure behind the planter to give trumpet vine a place to grow. Prune regularly to control its growth. The flowers and the whole plant are blood tonic, carminative, depurative diuretic and febrifuge. They are used in the treatment of women’s complaints. A decoction of the flowers is used to correct menstrual disorders, rheumatoid pains, traumatic injuries, difficult urination, pruritis and oozing dermaphytoses. Trumpet vine is used to treat menstrual disorders, rheumatoid pain, and difficult urination. Caution: Plant parts are slightly toxic if ingested.

Store in a cool and dry location such as the refrigerator or basement to best preserve germination rates. Planting Instructions: Soil Preparation and Fertilizing: Carrots are a cool-season crop and don’t do as well in hot summer months. Carrots like loose, well-drained soil to allow the roots to expand easily. If the soil is full of rocks and clods, the roots can become misshapen. To prepare the soil, clear the area of rocks, trash, and large sticks. Small pieces of grass and leaves can be mixed into the soil to make it richer. Spade the soil 8-12 inches deep and completely cover plant material. You may optionally scatter 1 cup of a complete fertilizer on the soil for each 10 feet of row to be planted. Rake the soil until it is smooth and work the beds into 4-6 raised ridges to allow soil to drain and let air enter soil. Space the ridges 8-12 inches apart from center to center or further apart if carrots are to be followed by a summer crop. You plant 2 or more rows of carrots on each ridge. Planting: Plant seeds as soon as the soil can be worked in the Spring and soil temperature reaches about 45F. For a Fall crop, plant in mid-to-late Summer for a harvest before the first frost. Use a hoe handle or stick to make a 1/2 inch furrow deep down the center of the ridge. Plant 2-3 seeds in the furrows spaced 3 inches apart within the rows. Cover lightly with loose soil then sprinkle with water. You may cover with a thing layer of fine compost or potting mix to help retain moisture. Planting Depth: 1/2 inch Within-Row Spacing: 3 inch Between-Row Spacing: 12 inches Care During the Season: Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged during the germination period, as carrots are sensitive to drying out during this period. Water the plants well weekly if it does not rain. Weeding: Keep the carrots free of weeds, which rob weak root systems of nutrients and moisture. Insecticides: Insecticides may be used to protect plants. Before using a pesticide, please read the label and always follow cautions, warnings and directions. Diseases: Check plants daily and treat with an approved fungicide if disease do appear. Neem oil, sulfur, and other fungicides are available for use. Please always follow label directions. Harvesting: Wash and taste-test carrots to determine if they are sweet, crisp, and flavorful to help determine when to harvest. Carrots are often harvested when they reach a mature size of 6-8 inches in length or when they reach 3-4 inches for baby snacking carrots. Though, carrots can be left to grow larger if desired. Harvest carrots by pulling from the tops until the roots separate from the soil.
