( 1 ) – LA Peppermint Camellia Japonica – Starter Plant ( 4L ) ( 1 live plant )

July 8, 2026

LA Peppermint CamelliaCamellia japonica ‘la peppermint’ LA Peppermint Camellia is a wonderful variety from the 1800’s that has stood the test of time for good reasons. In late winter through early spring it produces an abundance of fragrant, eye-catching double flowers with white or soft pink petals randomly streaked in red. Occasionally flowers may be half red and white to solid red. The striking flowers are set against a perfect backdrop of glossy, deep green foliage. it is ideal for use as a hedge, background plant, or in groupings and is especially nice as a corner plant or espalier (trained to grow flat against a wall) in home foundation plantings. As this camellia grows lower branches can be removed to form an attractive small evergreen tree that serves well as a colorful focal point specimen in landscape borders and home foundation plantings. Mature Height : 8-10 feetMature Width : 6-8 feetExposure : Full to partial shadeHardiness Zones : 7a-9b Starter Plants are grown in trays and therefore will be SHIPPED WITHOUT A POT !! PLEASE CONTACT US FOR CURRENT PLANT SIZES Note about “Variegated” camelliasSome camellias have this peculiar habit of producing different colored flowers on different parts of the same plant. This is known as ‘sporting’ and is not unusual, although it can come as a surprise to anyone who is unaware or unfamiliar with camellias. Sporting is the way in which a plant reveals part of its genetic makeup or parentage. The most obvious sporting occurs where red and white camellias have been crossed to produce a mottled or variegated flowered hybrid. Such hybrids often also exhibit solid white, pink, or red flowers. this does not mean they will not still produce the variegated flower you were expecting, it just means that it can produce both, solid and variegated flowers About Us About Us New life nursery & garden sells only the highest quality plant material with healthy root systems. Our main offerings: Hundreds of heirloom, rare, beautiful flowers and Herbs and Vegetables seeds. Especially we provide hard to find Herb and flowers seeds! Peppermint (Mentha Piperita) – There are several different types of mint: spearmint, bergamot, applemint, and Bowles mint; but Peppermint is generally the most wide spread in terms of usage. Peppermint seeds are easy to grow and the mature herb plant is pretty easy to identify by its dark green to purplish leaves. This herb typically grows around 24 inches tall or more, and consists of purplish, square stems and oblong purplish leaves with pointed tips, distinct veins, and toothed edges. Sowing: Mint grows well in rich soil and partial shade, and damp soil. Direct sow after the last spring frost, thinning the seedlings to 10-12″. Keep in mind that mint spreads easily and can nearly take over the space it is planted in. Because of this, some gardeners prefer to grow mint in an isolated location or as a container plant because of its vigorous spreading habit. As a companion plant, mint benefits nearly every garden plant and repels many harmful insects. Mint also grows well from root cuttings or by division. Growing: Mint appreciates rich soil, and will benefit from organic matter such as compost. Keep the soil fairly moist, but avoid getting the leaves wet when watering, since this can cause disease. In areas with cold winters, cut the plant down to the ground after frost and provide a thick layer of mulch for protection. Harvesting: Fresh leaves can be harvested as soon as the plant reaches a height of 3-4″. The small, young leaves tend to have the best flavor. Cut the stems down to within 1″ of the ground level to allow for new growth. Keep the tops pruned to prevent blooming, since this causes the leaves to deteriorate in flavor. To dry the leaves, hang the stems upside down in a dry location until the leaves feel completely dry; strip them from the stems and keep them in an airtight container. Fresh mint leaves can also be frozen. Seed Saving: Since many types of mint produce sterile seed or seed that is not true to type, saving the seed may be somewhat of an experiment. Harvest the seed heads as soon as they grow dry and brown; spread them out to finish drying out of sunlight, then thresh them to remove the seed. Store the peppermint seed in a cool, dry place. Latin Name: Mentha piperita Type: Hybrid, Cool Season|Warm Season Life Cycle: Perennial USDA Zones: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 Planting Method: From Transplant Sunlight: Full Sun, Part Sun Height: 18 Inches Color: White, Green Uses: Attracts Pollinators, Attracts Honeybees, Attracts Butterflies, Aromatic, Deer Resistant Free Shipping: All orders are shipped by USPS First Class Mail. 100+ Peppermint Seeds(Mentha piperita) Heirloom Perennial Herbal USA

July 8, 2026

100+ Peppermint Seeds(Mentha piperita) Heirloom Perennial HerbalPeppermint (Mentha x piperita) is grown for their leaves which are used to flavor vinegar and jelly (often served with roast lamb and other meats), and to enhance thirst-quenching cooling beverages. Sowing Start seed indoors 8 to 10 weeks prior to last spring frost. Or, sow directly outdoors in partially shaded, moist soil. Sows best through softwood cuttings. Also Sows well through rootball division. Mint seeds generally germinate between 12 and 16 days. Planting and harvesting Mints should be planted where they will not encroach on other plants. It is ideal for outdoor, container and hydroponic culture. Mints grown outdoors prefers full sun. Mint revels in deep, rich, moist ground and requires little care except manicuring or fertilizing in the spring. However, as the stems grow rapidly and the leaves become thin and small as the season advances, it is advisable to cut down from a third to a half of the patch when 6 or 8 inches high, drying the leaves and putting them in tight jars for winter use. Then soak the cut over area with liquid manure to stimulate a second crop of foliage. A month later, treat another area similarly. Thus a succession of succulent foliage may be had all season.
