We have plenty of lucky bamboos. You can always purchase when the weather permits. Caring for Lucky Bamboo There are certain growing conditions your lucky bamboo needs to be healthy, such as proper light, water, potting media, fertilizer, and temperature. When it comes to light, lucky bamboo prefers bright, filtered sunlight, such as what is found under a rainforest canopy. Avoid direct sunlight as it will scorch the leaves. They are more tolerant of too little light than too much. If the plant begins to stretch, however, or the green fades, provide more light. Lucky bamboo can grow indefinitely in a simple vase filled with pebbles (for support) and at least an inch of water. However, they are very sensitive to chlorine and other chemicals commonly found in tap water. Water your lucky bamboo only with bottled or distilled water, or tap water that has been left out for 24 hours to allow the chlorine to evaporate. Healthy lucky bamboo roots are red, so don’t be alarmed in a glass vase if you can see red roots. Finally, good hygiene recommends that you change the water weekly. In addition to water, lucky bamboo can be grown in a well-drained, rich potting soil. The soil should be kept moist, but not soaking. Water as you would any Dracaena species. Plants grown in water will only need to be fed every other month or so, using a very weak liquid fertilizer. A single drop of liquid fertilizer is plenty for most lucky bamboo arrangements. Alternatively, specialty lucky bamboo fertilizers are available. As you may expect with bamboo, this plant prefers warmer temperatures of between 65 F and 90 F. Do not place the plants in front of air conditioning or heating vents, or by a drafty window. How to Care for Your Plant Lucky bamboo is a great indoor plant that is very easy to grow. Not only does it do well in soil, but it does well in plain water, as well. Properly cared for, it can grow to about 2 to 3 feet in height. How to Grow in Water Fill the bottom of a container with pebbles and add enough water to rise to a couple of inches above the pebbles. The roots of the plant should be submerged. Change the water every one to two weeks in order to prevent rotting. The water should always look clear and smell fresh. Use distilled or purified water. How to Grow in Soil Use well-aerated potting soil with good drainage. Water so that the soil is kept moist but not waterlogged. Do’s & Don’ts: Container size: Choose a container that allows for at least one inch of space all the way around the plant so that the roots have room to spread. Light: Place the plant in bright but indirect light. This plant cannot survive under direct sunlight; it will burn. You may need to periodically rotate the plant so that all sides receive equal light. Temperature: Keep the plant within a temperature range of 65℉ and 90℉. Do not place the plant near a heating or cooling vent. Water: Use water that does not contain chlorine or fluoride. These chemicals can affect the color of the leaves and make them turn yellow or brown. Distilled or purified water is best. Fertilizer: You can occasionally add a drop of liquid fertilizer to encourage growth. For best results, use a fertilizer that is specifically formulated for lucky bamboo—but be careful not to over-fertilize. Make sure the liquid fertilizer is mixed well in water before adding the bamboos. The fertilizer should not directly touch any part of the bamboo. Trimming: Remove dead or yellow leaves Happy Gardening!

3000 Culantro Seeds NGO GAI Sawtoothfitweed, spiritweed, Stinkweed, Coriander

July 8, 2026

AKA Vietnamese coriander, chadon beni (shado beni), Sawtooth herb, shadow beni, Mexican coriander, and long coriander. It is widely used as a seasoning in Thailand, India, Vietnam, and other parts of Asia. The thick Ngo Gai leaves are perfect for drying at home as they retain their color and flavor very well Culantro is a member Apiaceae family, which includes carrots, celery, parsley, and parsnip. Culantro is used as both a culinary and medicinal herb Culantro is easy to grow but needs attention and patience to be successful with. The three critical conditions are warm soil – 80-85°F, seeds on the surface of the soil – never covered, and a consistently moist soil. If you meet all three conditions, your seeds should start sprouting in 2-4 weeks. STARTING: Start seeds indoor 8 weeks before the last frost date. Do not cover seeds with soil. Sprinkle seeds on surface of pre-moistened, sterilized seed starting mix. Bottom heat and plastic cover speed up germination. Check soil moisture regularly and water when the top inch becomes dry. GROWING: Plant outdoor in Partial Shade area – leaves will grow larger and more tender. Rich, Moist, well-drained soil (PH 6 -7.5) in warm location is best Optimal Temp.: 26 °C | Germination: 2-4 weeks | Plant Spacing : 8-12 in | Seed life: 2 years CULANTRO VS CILANTRO Culantro is a botanical cousin of cilantro, but they look nothing alike. Cilantro (Coriandrum sativum) is sometimes called Chinese parsley or Mexican parsley, and its seeds (coriander) are sometimes called Mexican coriander. While culantro has long leaves that grow in rosettes, cilantro has thin scallop-shaped leaves that grow on the tips of long, very thin stems. Additionally, cilantro is an annual plant, not a biennial like culantro. Though the flavor and aroma of the two herbs are comparable, you’ll notice that culantro is significantly more pungent than cilantro. Some people say it’s even 10 times stronger, which is apparent in how the two are used in food recipes. While culantro can handle the high heat of cooking, cilantro is a very delicate herb, which is why it’s often applied to food after cooking. WHAT DOES IT TASTE LIKE? Culantro has a pungent odor and bitter, soapy flavor similar to cilantro, but stronger. Many references say the odor is like crushed stinkbugs (skunky or burnt rubber) or crushed bedbugs (sweet, musty, and cilantro-like). With a description like that, it is apparent that this is a flavor that some love and some hate. A pungent element that would be distasteful on its own can add an extra dimension to the flavor of dishes. COOKING WITH CULANTRO The leaves are the desired part of the culantro plant for cooking. Culantro makes an excellent addition to a variety of recipes. You can cook it into almost any dish that you would otherwise finish with cilantro, though using less culantro than cilantro is recommended when substituting. It’s interesting to note that in some recipes for Vietnamese beef noodle soup (pho), the roles of cilantro and culantro are reversed, with cilantro cooked while culantro (ngo gai in Vietnamese) is reserved for the garnish.
