Hyssopus officinalis is a shrub in the Lamiaceae family. It is commonly known as Hysso.  You can find it natively from Europe to the Mediterranean and naturalized in Britain. An evergreen shrub that can grow to 2 feet tall and wide at a medium rate. In bloom from July to September while the seeds ripen from August to October. It is noted for attracting wildlife; it is self-fertile and is pollinated by bees as well. It cannot grow in the shade, and It prefers dry and moist soil.  This is a fragrant plant and is known to attract cabbage white butterflies. Zones 5-10 Germination Sow seeds the thickness of the seeds on top of the medium and lightly cover. Keep moist in a bright spot. Do not cover and keep temperatures around 65-70F. Germination is in 21-30 days.
