Black Pearl Peppers are a unique edition to any garden, growing to 18-24 inches tall with dark purple/black leaves and peppers. Small flowers are bright purple, and fruit starts off dark purple/black and will ripen to red at end of summer when fully ripe. Plants have a nice bushing habit, and do not require support. Does well in full sun and can tolerate more heat that most peppers. It can also do well in part-sun, as long as it gets minimum 6 hours sun per day. The more sun the plants get, the darker they tend to become. Black Pearl Peppers are edible and spicy and sweet. Heat level is about twice as hot as a jalapeno. Germination: 7-14 days at 75 degrees, tested Aug-2024 Tips: Store seeds in a cool, dry place, like a sealed container in your refrigerator, seeds can stay viable for several years to maximize germination – use the “paper towel” method using a damp paper towel in a sealed bag or container.
