SAVORY, SUMMER, HEIRLOOM, 100+ SEEDS, NON GMO, HERB, SPICE, GARDEN SEED

SAVORY, SUMMER, HEIRLOOM, ORGANIC, 25+ SEEDS, NON GMO, HERB, SPICE, GARDEN SEED SAVORY, SUMMER, HEIRLOOM, 25+ SEEDS, NON GMO, HERB, SPICE, GARDEN SEED Click images to enlarge Description HARVESTE ALL SEED LOTS ARE TESTED FOR GERMINATION. Delicious. No garden is complete without Summer Savory. Summer Savory is a wonderful heirloom variety with good old-fashioned taste. A native, annual, herb from the Mediterranean/Central Europe area. Known as the best culinary savory for flavoring recipes, dressings, gravy, and fresh salads due to its mild peppery taste. Excellent in bean dishes! The slender, pointy, slightly hairy leaves are nicely fragrant, fresh or dried, and grow on reddish colored stems with lavender pink flowers. Bushy plants grow up to 2 feet tall and work very well in containers or inside pots. It has multi medicinal uses and is even used as an aphrodisiac. Summer savory is widely renowned as a culinary herb with a smoother flavor then Winter Savory and similar to marjoram, but unique to itself. Originally introduced to England from the Mediterranean, it quickly took its place along with thyme, marjoram and basil. Indeed, it was one of the herbs that Charlemagne specifically ordered planted in his own royal garden. There are two major types of savory in common cultivation, winter and summer savory. Summer savory is lighter in flavor, but still has the characteristic minty-peppery flavor that is peculiar to the species. It has been used medicinally as well as for cooking. The Greeks, for instance, used it to treat earaches and toothaches, and Roman midwives used it as an all purpose disinfectant. According to ancient Greek lore, Pliny the Elder gave it the name satureja, which is a derivative of the word satyr. This was because satyrs were thought to have lived in fields of savory; this also implies that the herb itself was why the satyrs’ were so “passionate”, or so the Greeks thought. Whether or not it’s true, there’s no doubt that summer savory has earned its place in the culinary annals. It is often used to flavor spring vegetables, potatoes and cheeses. It is a primary ingredient in the French herbs Provencal. At least one modern herbal notes that the presence of p-cymene in the volatile oil may make it useful in treatment of diarrhea and sore throats. Seeds can be sown directly into garden when soil is warm or started in containers and transplanted. This can be grown nicely in containers and clay pots. Zones 3-10 All seeds are packaged and for the current growing season. About Us We are a small family run seed processor that has a long tradition of farming for many generations. I fondly remember my Grandfather telling stories about his Grandfather tilling the earth and the events that impacted his success. The stories bring to life the courage and creativity required to survive capricious weather and market prices. Our history makes it clear that the rewards of farming, including the birthing of the calves, the bounty of a good harvest, and the family’s feeling of being rooted in the soil. I still remember with pride, getting to sit on my Grandfathers lap while driving the tractor for the first time during corn harvest. In addition to commercial crops, most family farms also have large gardens to grow much of the food consumed on a farm. Growing your own vegetables, flowers, spices and herbs, canning and freezing were a normal part of life on the farm. We always saved seed from each plant for starting the cycle for the next year. We would like the opportunity to share some of these seeds with you. Pictures sell! Auctiva offers Free Image Hosting and Editing.300+ Listing Templates! Auctiva gets you noticed! ⁦Agapanthus Blue Lily Bulbs, Bare Root ~ Heirloom, Non-GMO. Ready for planting!

July 9, 2026

BULBS AND BARE ROOTS ARE AVAILABLE. Agapanthus is an evergreen perennial that can be planted in the garden in the warmer parts of the US (zones 8 to 10). Best grown in containers and protected from winter conditions in more northern locations. These formed a barrier between properties which was much more beautiful, open to enjoy spacious views, and airy than a fence. Commonly called Lily of the Nile and is actually from South Africa. Produces large flower clusters on tall stalks arising from a mound of strap-shaped leaves. Blue cultivars are available. These bloomed in early 2024 thru early April in Silicon Valley, CA, USA. BULBS:Three sizes are available, small, medium, and large. The larger the bulb, the sturdier the stems, more flowers they produce, and quicker they propogate / multiply for more vibrant floral landscape. The oldest of these heirloom, non GMO blue lily bulbs were planted in the mid-century, probably in 1950 having known their planter, original owner. I don’t recall the plants being sprayed with poison in the past 30 years. They have grown and propagated in Saratoga, CA ~ a local with a rich agricultural history. They attract humming birds and monarch butterflies as the yellow one in the photograph. These are easy to plant, grow, and propagate. Hearty, they’ve lived well through extreme weather, prolonged severe droughts followed by bitter cold winters that were one right after the other. For more information please refer to Sunset Western Garden ~ the gold standard. A sample of each size is in the photographs of this listing. The size within each category varies, due to the nature of this item, but will be close to that photographed. BARE ROOTS. Pricing needs to be determined. If interested while this is to be determined contact me and I will gladly try to accomodate you. Orders ship within 3 business days, from a smoke free, pet free environment via USPS. If you prefer or require a different carrier, feel free to choose from UPS and Fed-Ex as both are conveniently located near this store. Hundreds of bulbs and possibly thousands of bare roots are available. Due to e-Bays software, I need to request you please contact me if you wish to purchase a larger quantity. If you have any questions about your order after it arrives, please do not hesitate to contact me.
